What is the SLVSME?
The San Luis Valley Society of Model Engineers (SLVSME) is based in the SLV of Southern Colorado. We are dedicated to education, outreach, and community-building within different hobby interest areas.
We currently have four divisions: Model Railroad, Model Rocketry, RC Racing, and RC Air. Come play with us!
RC Racing Division has two seasons:
The Winter Series is 1/18 scale carpet racing held inside HobbyTown Alamosa at 709 Main St, November- April, generally on the third Saturday of each month at 6:30pm.
Summer is 1/10 short course dirt, held outside at the RC track in Cole Park near 300 Hunt Ave. The track is behind the library near the skate park, in the south-west quadrant of the park. Summer runs May-October.

Model Railroad Division is known as the Central Rockies and Pacific RR, and is loosely modeled on the Rio Grande.
Railroad meets most Sunday afternoons between 1:00pm and 4:00pm, in the mezzanine at HobbyTown. Enter through the alleyway door around back, because HobbyTown is closed on Sundays. There is a doorbell on the rear sliding door.

RC Air Division flies at the RC Air Strip next to the Del Monte Gun Club on the north side of HWY 160, between Alamosa and Monte Vista.
The gate is locked when the facilities are not in use. Contact us for access, or show up on a scheduled fly day.

The Rocketry Division is home of the San Luis Valley Rocketeers, NAR Section 774.
Summer: Second Saturdays May-October, usually at 9:00 AM until 4pm or whenever people stop flying, whichever comes first. Our usual waiver is 15k; AGL. The flying field is CLOSED unless there is a scheduled event. Please do not enter the property outside of scheduled fly days. Winter: Second Saturdays we meet at HobbyTown at 6:30pm, 709 Main St Alamosa. We build rockets, chat, plan, and help new rocketeers learn how everything works.
